Career Experience: Chris is a trial attorney with extensive experience in civil litigation matters.
Education: Preparatory Education, The University of Texas at Austin (B.A. and B.J. 1991); Legal Education, South Texas College of Law (J.D. 1996).
Admissions: Texas Bar in 1996.
Memberships: State Bar of Texas
Prior Positions: In 1996, Chris began her practice of law as a Harris County assistant district attorney, first chairing many misdemeanor and felony trials. In 1998, Chris went to work for American General Life Insurance Company (“AGLIC”) handling compliance. Thereafter, Chris moved within AGLIC to handle state government relations for 25 states. After AGLIC was bought by AIG Life Insurance Company, Chris moved back into litigation, managing all of the litigation for one of three profit centers, as well as all of the litigation for American General Securities, the broker-dealer. She practiced there until 2009, when she took a career break to raise her two children.
Personal: Chris is married to William Leighton, who is an anesthesiologist..
