Background:    Maria is a licensed Texas attorney who has rejoined the firm on a full time basis while in the midst of raising four children. She has prior experience handling mass tort, pharmaceutical, and insurance litigation.  Currently, she works on the firms' construction and insurance dockets.   

Education:  Preparatory education, Duke University (A.B. 1988); legal education, Southern Methodist University School of Law (J.D. 1993).

Admissions:  Texas Bar in 1993; U.S. District Court of Texas, Southern District of Texas.

Memberships:    State Bar of Texas (since 1993).

Prior Positions: Prior to joining the firm, Maria had 12 years of complex litigation experience in matters involving the defense of pharmaceutical products liability, toxic torts, insurance coverage and insurance bad faith, intellectual property, and oil and gas claims.  Before obtaining her J.D., Maria worked as a corporate legal assistant with a major New York law firm documenting interest rate and currency swap transactions, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions.
