Career Experience: Melanie is a trial attorney with extensive experience in various types of civil litigation matters.
Education: Preparatory education, Hardin Simmons University (B.A. summa cum laude 1985); Legal education, University of Houston Law Center (J.D. 1989).
Admissions: Texas Bar in 1989.
Memberships: State Bar of Texas
Prior Positions: Melanie began her practice of law as an associate at Funderburk & Funderburk, LLP, in 1989. In 1992, she joined the tort litigation section of Butler & Binion. In 1994, she joined Munisteri, Sprott, LeFevre & Rigby, P.C., where she subsequently became a partner. In 2002, she left that firm to form Karotkin, Chase, Erwin & Vincent, L.L.P., a boutique insurance defense firm. She practiced there until 2003, when she retired to raise her two children. She is Martindale-Hubbell rated AV.
Community Involvement: Sustaining Member, The Junior League of Houston, Inc. (1998-present); Director, St. Paul’s Strings (2002-2012); Violinist, Tallowood Orchestra (2013-present); Violinist, Houston Sinfonietta (1992-present); President, West University Piranhas Swim Team Parent Board (2009-2012); Incoming Treasurer, Memorial High School Varsity Baseball Team (2018).
Personal: Melanie is married to Griffin Vincent, who is also an attorney.
